Moreover, the blend of different cultures due to its neighbouring countries makes Nepal one of the most awaited travel destinations.

Your Guide to Trekking in Nepal

‘Hiker’s Paradise’ and the ‘Jewel of the Himalaya’ are some reputations that Nepal has built as such. Whether you are a beginner in trekking or a professional, all options exist. Some of the best treks in Nepal include the Annapurna Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit Trek, EBC Trekking, Khopra Ridge Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Lobuche Peak Trek, and the Mera Peak Expedition. You can choose a trek by its difficulty, region and the best time. Always be mindful of the rules and guidelines once you embark on a trek. It is best that you complete a trek in the presence of a local guide. Trekking in Nepal can be exhausting because it comes with its own set of challenges. However, if you look at the bright side, it can be a rewarding experience.

List of Treks in Nepal

  1. Annapurna Base Camp Trek
  2. Everest Base Camp Trek
  3. Khopra Ridge Trek
  4. Langtang Valley Trek
  5. Lobuche Peak Trek
  6. Manaslu Circuit Trek
  7. Poon Hill Trek

Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The Annapurna trek in Nepal is one of the most popular in the region. It is also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. The trail starts in the lakeside city of Pokhara, followed by the Modi Khola River and through beautiful rhododendron forests. The base camp is located at an altitude of 13,550 ft., with a trekking distance of 70 km and takes around 7 - 10 days to complete. After assessing its difficulty level, the trek can be graded as moderate to difficult, depending on the experience of the trekker. Upon reaching the base camp, you will witness breathtaking views and have a surreal experience while looking at the sunrise.

Everest Base Camp Trek

The popularity of this trek is known to the whole world. It takes trekkers to the world’s highest mountain peak, Mount Everest. The trail starts at the small town of Lukla, located in the Solukhumbu region. Including Mount Everest, the trek also offers breathtaking views of some of the other highest peaks in the world, such as Lhotse and Nuptse. This is one of the top treks in Nepal, meant for professionals due to its difficulty level. The trek covers a distance of 108 km and is located at an altitude of 18,200 ft.

Khopra Ridge Trek

It is a mountain ridge in the Annapurna region of Nepal and is located at the base of Khayar Pokhari, a sacred lake in the region. The trail of this trek begins at the Pokhara region, which is a popular starting point for many treks. On this trek, you will witness beautiful forests and villages. At an altitude of 15,650 ft., the difficulty level of this trek is moderate. This trek covers a distance of 50 km, and the best season to embark on this trek would be summer, winter and spring. Depending on your endurance level, you can either do this as a standalone trek or include it as a part of the Annapurna Circuit trek.

Langtang Valley Trek

While the Everest base camp trek and the Annapurna circuit trek are popular among tourists, the Langtang Valley trek is quite underrated. Alongside the waterfalls and snowcapped mountains, this trek also runs through rhododendrons and bamboo forests. The trek takes you to an altitude of 13,123 ft. and passes through the Langtang National Park, where you can witness a wide variety of flora and fauna. On your way, you can also stop by the local cheese factory or the holy Gosainkunda Lake. The best time to trek the Langtang valley is during the dry season, i.e. from October to May.

Lobuche Peak Trek

As a mountaineer, it is the thrill and discovery of something new that we seek. The Lobuche Peak Trek combines both the beauty and thrill that individuals are looking for while trying to escape the mundane city life. Booking Nepal tour packages from Mumbai or any other city at Veena World comes with perks such as getting a tour guide on booking group tours or customizing your holiday packages according to your preference on the places that you like to see and activities you want to indulge in. Since the difficulty level of this trek is high, we advise that you get a fitness check on whether you can take this trek or not.

Manaslu Circuit Trek

The Mansalu circuit trek is untouched by the crowds and covers a distance of 104 Km. This trek takes you through villages and forests, making it an immersive experience with nature and culture. At an altitude of 17,100 ft., the difficulty level of this trek is high. Summer and Autumn are considered the best seasons to embark on this trek.

Poon Hill Trek

This is a short trek when compared to others in the region, making the difficulty level quite low. You can watch the sunrise from the hill and immerse yourself in the cultural experiences of the ethnic groups in the region. The Spring and Autumn seasons are considered to be the best time for this trek. If you are with your family, then you can do this as a standalone trek. However, if you are going solo, then you can embark on other side treks such as the Mardi Himal Trek, Khopra Khair Lake Trek, Jomsom Muktinath Trek, etc.

Best Time to Visit Nepal

The best time to visit Nepal depends on what you want to do and the places you want to see. However, Nepal tour packages at Veena World are all-season friendly. Nepal is an all-year-round destination, where the spring season is lively, summer is vibrant, winter is chilly, and monsoon is beautiful. Each season brings in a new experience and sight to see and admire. Known as a trekker's paradise, the best time for trekking in Nepal is during the dry season.

Booking holiday packages for Nepal at Veena World gives you the flexibility to customize your package from sightseeing to accommodation. This ensures that you do not miss out on anything, nor compromise on the good times that you have been planning for this holiday package.
