Alleppey Beach hosts a number of festivals throughout the year, like the Alappuzha Beach Festival and the Sand Art Festival. The much popular Nehru Trophy Boat Race takes place at this beach every August.  

•    Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary: For many nature lovers, tourism in Alleppey is synonymous with a visit to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. This incredible bird sanctuary lies on the banks of the Vembanad Lake and is a popular destination for many native and migratory birds.  In addition to native birds like cuckoos, owls, herons, and waterfowl, you may get the chance to spot bird species like the Siberian crane at this sanctuary. 

•    Krishnapuram Palace: When talking about Alappuzha tourism, we cannot forget to mention this palace and museum. Krishnapuram Palace was built during the reign of a Travancore King and is famous for its intriguing mural paintings and architecture. The palace has been built in the traditional architectural style of Kerala, and features narrow corridors, dormer windows and a gabled roof. Krishnapuram Palace houses one of the biggest mural paintings in Kerala, known as the 'Gajendra Moksha'. This painting covers an area of about 53 square feet. You can also find the double-edged sword Kayamkulam Vaal at the Krishnapuram Palace.

•    Mannarasala: Dedicated to the serpent gods, this is among the oldest temples in Alleppey. Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple is located amidst thick forests and features a wide variety of snake paintings. Here you would find more than 30,000 images of the serpent gods.

•    Revi Karunakaran Memorial Museum: Built in 2003, the Revi Karunakaran Museum is becoming an increasingly popular spot for Alleppey tourism. At this one-of-a-kind museum, you would find Swarovski crystals in jade, ivory, porcelain, along with Belgian glassworks, Murano glassworks and Tanjore paintings. Revi Karunakaran Memorial Museum also features a special Kerala Room that showcases the development of Kerala by using more than 3800 distinctive displays. 

•    St.Mary’s Forane Church: Constructed in 427 AD, this is among the most gorgeous churches in Alleppey, and boasts of a rich legacy and history. The architecture of the church especially makes it important to Alappuzha tourism. The architecture of St.Mary’s Forane Church has a distinctive blend of Portuguese and Syrian designs.
