Travel has always been a meaningful part of me and my family’s life, and Veena World has consistently been at the heart of those experiences. Our recent tour to Dalhousie, Dharamshala & Amritsar marked our 12th tour with Veena World, and once again it left us with unforgettable memories to treasure. I felt truly grateful and wanted to share this experience and express our appreciation for such a beautiful tour.

A picturesque start

Dalhousie Market

We began our trip by hitting up a few local spots in Dalhousie. The Subhash Chandra Bose Statue View Point offers panoramic hill views, while Gandhi Chowk, the heart of Dalhousie, is a lively hub surrounded by shops, cafes, and heritage buildings. A perfect start to our journey, soaking in Dalhousie’s charm, views, and vibrant local life.

Exploring the Highlights of Dalhousie

Chamera Dam boating

No trip to Dalhousie is complete without a visit to Khajjiar, a beautiful hill station near Chamba, set at around 2,000 meters in the Dhauladhar range and part of the Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary. Often called “Mini Switzerland,” it truly lived up to its charm with wide green meadows and stunning views. En route, we were truly mesmerized by the towering 85-ft bronze Lord Shiva statue, a breathtaking and divine sight set against the serene backdrop of the Himalayas. Later, we headed to Chamera Lake in Dalhousie, a peaceful artificial lake formed by the Chamera Dam on the Ravi River, perfect for boating and soaking in serene mountain scenery. A truly refreshing and scenic experience from start to finish.

Experiencing the delights of Dharamshala

Dharamshala Stadium

Our visit to Dharamshala was truly enriching, with each place offering a unique experience. We began with the historic Kangra Fort, standing strong above the rivers and echoing stories of resilience. The peaceful Chinmaya Tapovan Temple brought a sense of calm. We were mesmerized by the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium set against the stunning Himalayan backdrop. The Skyway ride to McLeodganj was breathtaking, offering scenic views of the valleys below. In McLeodganj, we soaked in vibrant Tibetan culture, visited Bhagsunag Temple and Bhagsu waterfall, and enjoyed the serene charm of St. John’s Church nestled in deodar forests.

A perfect blend of history, spirituality, nature, and culture... Dharamshala left us with memories to cherish forever.

A Meaningful Journey Through Amritsar

Amritsar Golden Temple

Our visit to Amritsar was deeply enriching, offering a perfect blend of spirituality, history, and culture. We began at Ram Tirth Temple, a sacred site linked to Sage Valmiki and the Ramayana, followed by the moving experience at Jallianwala Bagh, a powerful reminder of India’s freedom struggle. The Golden Temple left us in awe with its divine beauty and sense of equality and peace. We also explored the Punjab State War Heroes’ Memorial, which beautifully honours brave soldiers, and Sadda Pind, where Punjabi village life came alive in the most vibrant way. We visited Durgiana Temple, Govindgarh Fort, and Mata Lal Devi Temple in Amritsar, experiencing a beautiful mix of devotion, history, and vibrant culture. The Attari-Wagah Border ceremony was an unforgettable display of patriotism and energy. A journey filled with emotion, pride, and unforgettable memories.

A note of thanks to Everyone Who Made This Journey So Special

Our tour managers,

Mr. Mandar Jadhav and Mr. Vaibhav Tanga managed the tour excellently and made the journey truly memorable. Mandar was friendly, witty, and highly supportive, while Vaibhav was calm, caring, and especially attentive towards elderly guests. Both kept the group engaged with activities during travel and maintained great team spirit throughout. Their professionalism and warmth made the experience enjoyable, and we rate them as “Excellent.” They are true assets to Veena World.

Support at Chinchwad office:

Whenever contacted, Mrs. Sharvari Shinde and Mrs. Swarupa Joshi gave us a homely feel. It’s very nice to talk to both of them in person or on the telephone.

We had originally planned this journey together as three families - Ramtirthakars, Joshis, and Gunajis. However, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, one of our fellow travellers could not join us on this trip.

During this time, the support and empathy extended by the Veena World team, especially Sharvari, meant a lot to our extended travel family. Her sensitivity and care reflected the warmth and human touch that truly sets Veena World apart.

With heartfelt gratitude, thank you Veena World.

Travelling with Veena World has always been a joy, and this 12th tour once again reaffirmed why we choose you. From beautiful destinations and seamless arrangements to warm hospitality, everything was perfectly managed.

We look forward to many more memorable journeys together. Here’s to exploring more of the world with Veena World... one destination at a time.

– Mrs. Shubhada & Mr. Raghunandan Ramtirthakar
