All in all, it is also one of the fastest developing and most prosperous cities in Thailand. Tourists can soak up the sun in idyllic settings which feel surreal. These beaches are filled with top-class resorts and spas where you can have a great time with your family and indulge in recreational activities with your friends. Moreover, Bangkok is also known as a vibrant cultural city that is fused with spirituality, religion, modern lifestyle and nightlife.

Koh Larn, Chon Buri

This island has a few beaches and is near Bangkok. To be precise, it is located around seven km away from the Pattaya coast and is on the right end of the Bay of Bangkok. Ferries seem to be the easiest option to get here. Tawaen and Samae are two beaches here on this island that offer plenty of water sports activities, seafood restaurants and souvenir shops. Include this in your itinerary of Thai beaches near Bangkok city. The island is made of hills which is covered with tropical forest that is less dense and the corals that make it a paradise.

Hua Hin, Khiri Khan

This is quite a famous beach of Bangkok with white sand which is roughly 5 kilometres long and is located approximately two and half hours south of Bangkok. Buses and trains are easily accessible to get here. Hua Hin is also very popular, especially among European tourists. While on this beach, you can explore places like Vana Nava Water Jungle, Kui Buri National Park and San Yod National Park.

The best time to visit Hua Hin is from November to February thanks to the pleasant weather. Blessed are those who experience sunny days during the harsh months of the winter season!

It is located approximately 145 km from Bangkok city Centre and like other tropical regions, the best time to be here is during winters. Whether you want to indulge in parasailing, jet skiing or simply sit and chill - this beach is an ideal place. You’ll always have vendors delivering you food and drinks when here. Thereafter, you can also explore Tiger Park, Pattaya where you can take photos with tigers and pet them if you have the guts to do so.

Cha-am Beach Phetchaburi

Of all the Thai beaches near Bangkok, Cha-am Beach is considered to be the safest for kids without parents fearing strong waves. It is a few kilometres away from Hua Hin and approximately 174 kilometres away from Bangkok. This beach is always packed during the weekends so plan your trip accordingly. This beach near Bangkok city also has a national park by the name of Kaeng Krachan National Park which was named a UNESCO heritage site in July 2021 due to its diversity of flora and fauna. The activities that you can do on Cha-am beach are horse riding, windsurfing, boat rides, etc.

Mae Phim Beach, Rayong

To be here on this beach near Bangkok city is bliss because it is home to many water sports activities that you can take part in. Alternatively, you can sit by the pavilion and enjoy the golden hour of the sunset by taking pictures. You can also hop into different restaurants to try seafood and local delicacies. The areas near this beach in Bangkok offer good restaurant services and massages.

Koh Samet, Rayong

Koh Samet is an island that is situated about 220 km south of Bangkok. This island boasts of a number of beaches as it has 16 beaches with one being private. Some beach areas near Bangkok are secluded as well; ideal for those who do not like crowded places. You can come here for swimming or try out water sports activities. Some of the beaches on the island are Ao Lukyon, Laem Yai, Ao Pakarang, Ao Phrao, and Haad Sai Kaew.

Pranburi Beach, Prachuap Khiri Khan

Beaches in Thailand near Bangkok are charming and peaceful with Pranburi beach being the same. It is located about 30 km south of Hua Hin. You can also explore a forest park called Mangrove Forest.  It is also known as the starting point of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. The scenery around the beach is dramatic with wetlands, mangroves, and limestone peaks, and its hypnotizing beauty is the clear serene waters.

If you want something more than just absorbing the sun, indulge in kiteboarding over the soft sands and swim in the great waters. Besides that, there are water sports activities as well as many beach resorts in Bangkok.

Koh Chang, Trat

Koh Chang is also known by the name Elephant Island which is approximately 300 km away from Bangkok via bus and ferry. There is no airport on the island and taking a bus seems convenient because the ferry is included too. Make sure to include this island in the itinerary for your Bangkok sightseeing package as it is considered one of the largest Islands in the Gulf of Thailand. It is also in proximity to Koh Kood Island which has waterfalls, rainforests, hiking trails and a viewpoint of Mu Ko Chang National Park. If you want your vacation to be adventurous, then head to the Tree Top Adventure Park where you can do zip lining and partake in rope bridge climbing.

Railay Beach, Krabi

This beach in Bangkok lies between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang in Thailand. You need to take a boat ride to get here. Upon reaching, you can go for thrill-seeking adventures like rock climbing and snorkelling. With palm trees and turquoise blue waters, the beach affords its visitors with opportunities to take part in activities like fishing, swimming and bird watching.

December to April is generally considered the best time to visit the best beaches near Bangkok. Due to the weather being pleasant around this time of the year, Bangkok is flocked by tourists from all over the world. However, the peak season is around the same time so plan your trip accordingly as per the places you want to see and the activities you want to do. That’s because Thailand has plenty of beaches which are perfect for a year-round visit!
