However, since the city is shrouded with thick clouds and misty fog, it is important to practice caution when planning to visit during the rainy season. Some of the ideal places to visit in Gangtok during the Monsoon season include the Rumtek Monastery with lush green trees surrounding the keep; Rabangla with its huge statue of Lord Buddha - the head touching the clouds. Ruins of Rabdentse and Pemayangtse Monastery with their splendid views of the Kanchenjunga range. Enchey Monastery is perfect for those who seek solace and solitude.
