Switzerland with Scenic Trains

Today visit Jungfraujoch Europe’s highest mountain. Proceed to Lauterbrunnen by train to board the cogwheel train to Mt Jungfraujouch, Europe’s highest railway station. Here visit the Ice Palace, experience panoramic views from Spnix Observation terrace overlooking Aletsch Glacier–Europe’s longest Glacier. Later return to your hotel in Interlaken. Overnight in Interlaken.

In the morning make your own way to Interlaken train station and board a train to Zermatt. One has to change the train at Spiez and Visp to reach Zermatt. Make your own way to hotel, evening leisure. Zermatt is car free town, private vehicles, access is allowed until Täsch (5 km from Zermatt). Overnight in Zermatt

In the morning make your own way to Zermatt rail station, you can either walk, a 20-minute walk, or take an electric bus to reach the gondola station. Your trip begins at the gondola station. Remember, you have to change three gondolas to reach your final destination, i.e. Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. First gondola takes you to Furi at 1640 meters. While ascending, you will get to see a bird’s eye view of the Zermatt village. Second gondola takes you from Furi to Trockener Steg at 2939 meters. The second cable car ascends over a rough, rocky alpine landscape. If you are already tired, grab something to keep you going at the Trockener Steg restaurant. Third and the last gondola takes you from Trockener Steg to Klein Matterhorn, famously known as Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. The journey from Zermatt rail station to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise takes more than 45 minutes. Once on top you can soak in the views and get the perfect photographs, or enjoy a meal with a view. Later return to the hotel. Overnight in Zermatt.

After breakfast, day is free to explore St Mortiz on your own. You can visit the leaning tower, shopping for international fashion at Via Serlas, Segantini museum. You can also enjoy a funicular ride to the mountain peaks for spectacular views of the region or take the Cable Car up to Diavolezza and enjoy overlooking the valley or Glacier. Take a relaxing dip in a wood-fired jacuzzi at 3000 meters above sea level on Diavoelezza, just next to the Glacier. Overnight at St Moritz.

Today after breakfast, board scenic Bernina Express. Journey train passes through various tunnels and bridges on its way till Tirano. Travellers are treated to marvellous sights during their journey, like the Montebello curve with a view of the Bernina massif, the Morteratsch glacier, the lakes Lej Pitschen, and Lago Bianco, the Alp Grüm and the Brusio Circular Viaduct. After extend journey from Tirano to Lugano aboard the Bernina Express Bus. On arrive at Lugano proceed to hotel on own. Overnight at Lugano.
