The natural treasures of Slovenia, such as the snow-capped mountains, green rivers, warm & welcoming hospitality and the intricate delicacies, allow you to experience paradise here on earth. Mentioned below is a list of things to do in Bled.
Lake Bled
Without a doubt, this lake is one of the most breathtaking locations in Slovenia. It is located in the Julian Alps region of northern Slovenia and is surrounded by picturesque snow-capped mountain peaks not far from the Austrian border. The lake resembles a fairy tale, with a castle perched atop a cliff overlooking it and an island with a church in the centre. Additionally, there is a legend about the origin of the lake.
Triglav National Park
With this full-day guided tour departing from Bled, you can easily explore Triglav National Park. Allow someone else to drive and spend the day speeding through breathtaking gorges and mountain passes that are home to some of Slovenia's most picturesque routes, avoiding the headache of negotiating winding mountain roads. You can indulge in rafting on the Soca River for a thrilling experience.
Ojstrica
It is a mountain which translates to 'a sharp peak' in Slovene. It is named for its pointed shape and is located high above Lake Bled. Climbing Ojstrica takes approximately 20 minutes. You can witness a great panoramic view of Lake Bled and can also see the peaks of Vrtača, Begunjščica, Dobrča and many others.
Vintgar Gorge
Vintgar has been ranked among the most important tourist destinations in Slovenia. Sculpted by the Radovna River, about 4 kilometres northwest of Bled, close to Gorje, is Vintgar Gorge. The impressive 13-meter-tall Sum river waterfall, one of Slovenia's three river waterfalls, is at the conclusion of a study route that crosses the canyon, wooden bridges, and Zumer galleries. The number of visitors to Vintgar Gorge has been increasing every year, due to its natural beauty. Vintgar Gorge is very close to Triglav National Park.
Pokljuka
The Pokljuka plateau, which stretches for about 20 kilometres long, is Triglav National Park's largest circular woodland region. Its high altitude and fresh air, which have a favourable impact on the health and well-being of people living there, makes Pokljuka a very popular vacation spot throughout the year. You can enjoy cross-country skiing, sledging, ski touring, and skiing in the winter. Pokljuka is a fantastic place to go cycling, hiking, and Nordic walking from spring to fall.
Mezakla
Mezakla is a high plateau between 1000 and 1300 meters above sea level. It is primarily covered with spruce and beech woodland and is situated between Radovna and Sava Dolinka. Nestled in Triglav National Park, the plateau is pristine and unpopular with tourists. Cattle graze in the numerous pastures that dot the area. Mountain streams and pristine springs are in abundance here. A unique sight of this destination is the 15-meter natural bridge that spans the ravine and was created by erosion and uneven stone degradation.
Grad Hill
On the lake's north shore, a sizable granite wall rises majestically, providing a sumptuous perspective of the surroundings. The hill is called for a castle that has stood on that bluff since the Middle Ages. The designated pedestrian route or asphalt road that runs to the castle walls provides access to the castle.
Due to their proper lighting and fences, the paths leading up to the castle hill are among Bled's best-maintained hiking routes. In addition to Triglav, the Bled Castle provides guests with a unique perspective of Lake Bled and its island.
Best Time to Visit Bled
No matter which time of the year you plan to visit Bled, the experience that it offers will always be magical. However, winter is usually considered the best time because of its snow white landscapes and fewer crowds. Autumn and summer attract visitors from all around the world.
