What is the best time to visit Leh Ladakh?
June to September is the best time to visit Leh Ladakh when mountain roads are open and the weather is clear. July and August are peak season with all attractions including Pangong Tso, Nubra Valley and Turtuk accessible. May and October are shoulder months with fewer crowds. Winter visits from January to March are possible but extremely cold and many roads close.
Is altitude sickness a concern for Leh Ladakh tours?
Yes. Leh sits at 3,500 metres above sea level and altitude acclimatisation is essential. Veena World Ladakh itineraries include a mandatory rest day in Leh on arrival. Guests should avoid strenuous activity for the first 24-48 hours and stay well hydrated. Diamox altitude medication is recommended and available locally. Guests with cardiac or respiratory conditions should consult a doctor before booking.

Indian nationals require Inner Line Permits (ILP) for restricted areas including Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, Turtuk and the Dah-Hanu area. Veena World Leh Ladakh tours range from 7 nights to 10 nights. A 7-night tour covers Leh, Pangong Tso and Nubra Valley with acclimatisation days. A 9-10 night tour adds Turtuk, the Zanskar Valley or the remote Hanle area. The acclimatisation day is non-negotiable and is built into all itineraries for guest safety.
Can I visit Leh Ladakh by road with Veena World?
Yes. Veena World offers road trip packages to Leh Ladakh through both the Manali-Leh highway and the Srinagar-Leh highway. These are adventure road trips with stops at scenic points, high-altitude passes like Rohtang and Khardung La, and overnight stays en route. Road trips typically take 9-12 nights depending on the route chosen.
