Your Itinerary

Day 1

Leh (2 Nights)

Arrive at Leh Airport as per their scheduled flight. Upon arrival meet Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to the Hotel. Rest of the day is free for acclimatization. Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 2

Leh Local Sightseeing

Today we visit Hall of Fame War Museum – a museum constructed by the Indian Army in memory of the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives defending the motherland in the Indo-Pak wars, Patthar Sahib Gurudwara- a beautiful Gurudwara sahib constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak, Magnetic Hill – also known as Gravity Hillwhere vehicles defy the force of gravity andSangam of the rivers Indus &Zanskar– a place where two of Himalaya's great rivers; The Zanskar and Indus merge to form a spectacular view. Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 3

Leh – ZampaYogma(3 HR drive) –Trek to Sara (2 hrs trek)

Today we commence our trekking journey with a 3 hour car drive from Leh to ZampaYogma, the starting point of our trek from where we begin our walkof approximately 2 hours to reach Sara.We halt here for the night. Overnight in tents.

Day 4

Sara – Markha (3800 MTS /12464 FT, 4-5 hrs trek)

Today is a very pleasant hike up the Markha valley, as this trail crosses numerous river streams. We make our way to Markha village walking through the numerous running streams of Markha River on the way. Markha is a quaint place occupied by a deserted fort and a small village. We halt for the night in Markha.

Day 5

Markha–Thachungtse (6 hrs trek)

Today we trek from Markha to Thachungtse. As you walk further, you will notice that the relatively heavily forested sections of the lower Marka give way to a rather barren and warm landscape. We will be crossing the river several times on this route.The trail is particularly beautiful and refreshing when it merges with flowing river and streams.Enroute we pass Hankar- the highest village in Markha Valley before reaching Thachungtse for the night. Overnight in tents.

Day 6

Thachungtse - Nimaling (4700 MTS /15416 FT, 5 hrs trek)

We begin our trek this morning towards Nimaling. This route is on a good path with several small inclines and a series of grassy ridges. You will notice several Mani walls (walls carved with Buddhist prayers) and chortens(stupas or Buddhist shrines)on this route. This is considered one of the most beautiful high valleys in Ladakh dominated by the Kangyaze peak. We call it a night here, surrounded by the presence of mighty mountain peaks. Overnight in the tents.

Day 7

Nimaling - Kongmaru La (5150 MTS/16892 FT) – Chokdo (6 -7 HRS trek) – Leh(2 hrs drive)

Today we will cross to the north of Markha, climbing to the top of pass – Kongmaru La (5,306 MTS), the highest of the three passes in the region. From here there are wonderful panoramic views, with snow-capped peaks stretching away as far as the eye can see. On a clear day you can see K2 and many other famous peaks of the Karakoram. After taking good views of the surrounding snow clad mountains we arrive at Chokdo, which marks the end of our trekking route. Later we drive from Chokdo to Leh for the night. Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 8

Leh

Today we visit Shey Palace – which used to be the summer retreat of the royal family of Ladakh in the past, The Indus River - one of the longest rivers in Asia, Rancho School - also known as Druk White Lotus school, HemisGompa – a Himalayan Buddhist monastery which is believed to be the wealthiest and the biggest monastery in Leh, further we visit Shanti Stupa – a white domed stupa built by the Japanese monks to promote world peace. The Stupa overlooks the city of Leh, providing panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. In the evening, we have free time for shopping at Leh Market. Overnight in Leh Hotel.

Day 9

Leh – Departure
