The Taj Mahal is a magnificent mausoleum located in Agra, India. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, and is considered one of the greatest examples of Mughal architecture. The Taj Mahal is also considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The building is constructed entirely of white marble and is adorned with intricate carvings and precious stones. And to honor this magnificence, the Taj Mahotsav is held. The Taj Mahotsav is an annual cultural festival celebrated in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Organized by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, the festival is held in honor of the Taj Mahal, and celebrates the region's rich cultural heritage. The Taj Mahotsav date is 18th February. The festival lasts ten days and is held every February in the Shilpgram area near the east gate of the Taj Mahal.

The festival was first held in 1992 and has since become a popular cultural event, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world. These include handcrafted carpets from Bhadohi, pottery from Khurja, Chikan work from Lucknow, silk and zari work from Banaras, shawls and carpets from Kashmir/Gujarat, hand printing from Farrukhabad, and Kantha stitch from West Bengal. They also include wood/stone carvings from Tamil Nadu, bamboo/cane work from North East India, paper mash work from South India and Kashmir, and wood carving from Saharanpur. A number of Bollywood media houses and film production companies, like Dhaivat Records & Productions, take part in the Mahotsav and manage performers there.

Another popular attraction of the Taj Mahotsav is the food festival, which offers a diverse array of traditional Indian cuisines. Visitors can sample dishes from various regions of India, including street food, sweets, and main course dishes. The festival is also an opportunity to taste local delicacies, such as Agra's famous petha, a sweet made from pumpkin.
