Quick Summary

December in India brings a cosy, festive atmosphere with cool weather and decorations that make Christmas feel extra special.

If you want the classic holiday magic, revisit the convent school experience with carol singing, nativity plays, and a strong sense of togetherness.

For a white Christmas, visit Lapland, Finland, where you can tour Santa’s village, ride reindeer sleighs, and try to catch the Northern Lights.

To shop and snack in a fairytale setting, explore Strasbourg’s famous Christmas markets with mulled wine and handmade gifts.

For iconic city sparkle, enjoy New York City’s holiday displays, ice skating in Central Park, and a Nutcracker performance at Lincoln Center.

For a sunlit twist, celebrate in Sydney with beach parties, outdoor barbecues, and fireworks over the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

India is a land of several amazing festivals. The way we have embraced every festival as our own is just incredible, to say the least. I love celebrating Ganeshotsav, Navratri, and Diwali as much as I love celebrating Christmas. As the cool breeze ushers in the month of December, my heart fills with joy and anticipation. As a convent school alumna, Christmas has always been a special time for me. The moment the calendar flips to December, I'm transported to a world of warmth, festivity, and nostalgia. I've always loved Christmas, and one of the reasons for my fondness is the wintery vibe it brings. Even in India, where we don't have snow-covered streets, the cool December weather and the festive decorations create a cosy and inviting atmosphere.

Attending a convent school during Christmas was an enchanting experience in itself. The memories of Christmas celebrations there are etched in my heart forever. The melodious carol singing, nativity plays, and the sense of unity that enveloped us as we celebrated together was just incredible. I used to eagerly look forward to this time of the year. While my school days are behind me, the memories of those Christmases at the convent are a cherished part of my life. Today, I continue to celebrate the season with a mix of old and new traditions. The classic movies, hot chocolate, and the joy of giving remain a significant part of my holiday celebrations.

Worldwide, Christmas is celebrated with equal love and enthusiasm. Let’s see a few examples and go on a virtual tour of some of the most enchanting Christmas destinations and traditions. Whether you're a snow enthusiast or a sunseeker, we have the perfect destination for you!
