Land of the Never-Setting Sun!

Back in school, we all recall composing essays on fictional scenarios, like 'What if the sun doesn't rise today?'. Do you remember the wonderful ideas we conjured? Well, tourism has taught us that sometimes, this tale of mere imagination truly unfolds in some remote corner of the world. Near the Earth's North and South Poles, six months of the year plunge into perpetual night, while the remaining six months bask in continuous daylight. During the summer months, when the sun illuminates the sky even at midnight, it's referred to as the Midnight Sun or the realm of the never-setting sun.

Now, in the southern hemisphere beyond the Antarctic Circle, tourists encounter limited access due to the absence of human settlements apart from a few research stations. However, those dwelling near the Arctic Circle in the north, along with visiting tourists, witness this awe-inspiring marvel of nature. Some of the regions falling under this phenomenon include Alaska, Northern Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Russia.

The Midnight Sun phenomenon has scientific and geographical underpinnings. In simple terms, it occurs due to the Earth's axial tilt as it revolves around the sun. During the peak of this tilt, which coincides with summer on Earth, the North Pole is inclined towards the sun for an extended period, resulting in round-the-clock sunlight and the absence of night-time. This phenomenon is most vividly experienced in the Arctic region around June 21st, known as the summer solstice, marking the longest day of the year.

Svalbard in Norway stands as the northernmost inhabited region in Europe. Here, from approximately April 19th to August 23rd, the sun remains continuously visible. We'll be embarking on an adventure to Svalbard to witness the Midnight Sun aboard Veena World's Arctic Cruise Polar Bear Express tour this June. Additionally, our Scandinavia Midnight Sun and Iceland Scandinavia Midnight Sun tours are set to depart in June. Scandinavia, comprising the happiest countries in the world—Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark—beckons with its enchanting allure. Explore the enticing itineraries of these tours on today and secure your spot instantly, as these exclusive tours boast limited availability with only a few seats remaining. So, let's pack our bags and embark on this extraordinary journey!

Veena World Customized Holidays: Experiential Africa

Among the seven continents of the world, Asia, Europe, America, and Australia are the most easily accessible. The remaining three continents—Africa, South America, and Antarctica—are less frequented. While Africa is geographically closer to us, it remains somewhat overlooked by Indian travellers compared to those from Europe and America. However, if you desire an immersive experience of Africa like no other, Veena World Customized Holidays offers unparalleled opportunities.

In addition to the traditional safari experiences in Africa, such as canter van safaris, visitors can explore the rich wildlife through alternative means such as boat safaris, horse safaris, hot air balloon safaris, and walking safaris. Notably, between July and October each year, over two million wildebeest, zebras, and other animals migrate from Tanzania's Serengeti to Kenya's Masai Mara in search of greener pastures—an awe-inspiring phenomenon known as 'The Great Migration'. Observing this spectacle from a hot air balloon is an experience not to be missed.

As the period of the great migration approaches, consider embarking on a Veena World Customized Holiday to Africa to witness this breath-taking natural phenomenon. While you may have taken a helicopter ride before, a microlight flight offers a more exhilarating experience, allowing you to soar over Victoria Falls in Africa with the wind in your face.

Africa, renowned for its adventurous spirit, offers activities such as bungee jumping at Bloukrans Bridge—a thrill unlike any other. Furthermore, the continent provides opportunities to encounter exotic creatures up close, many of which are familiar from television programs like the Discovery Channel. From whale watching in Hermanus, South Africa, between June and October, to gorilla trekking in Rwanda, Africa promises unforgettable wildlife encounters.

For enthusiasts of the 'Jaws' movie series, Gansbaai in South Africa offers the chance to get up close to sharks through cage diving. Additionally, accommodation options in Africa offer unique experiences, from staying in luxury lodges atop Masai Mara to residing in the renowned 'and Beyond' lodge on the rim of Tanzania's Gorongoro Crater. For a truly extraordinary experience, consider renting an entire island or staying at Giraffe Manor near Nairobi, Kenya, where giraffes roam freely.

Contact the Veena World Customized Holidays team today to explore these and numerous other remarkable experiences in Africa.

Setting foot on the Seventh Continent – Antarctica!

A tour to Antarctica, a unique ice-covered continent at the bottom of the world, is the dream of every genuine wanderer. This dream is coming true because we are currently on a cruise in Antarctica. We have a deep interest in tourism and have visited 30 states of India and 57 countries around the world to date. We fulfil our passion for tourism very diligently, which means we go on at least 3 trips every year. We eagerly anticipate the new tours launched by Veena World, as evidenced by our recent booking of Veena World's September tour to New Zealand. Simultaneously, we have decided to book the Northern Lights' ‘Scandinavia’ tour in December when it launches. Therefore, our travel plan for 2024 is well-prepared, with the highlight being our ongoing ‘Antarctica Tour’.

While we have explored many countries around the world, we have been particularly fascinated by Turkey. Due to its beautiful nature, historical architecture, and welcoming locals, we have decided to visit Turkey once again after exploring other countries. We prefer to tour with Veena World because their tour programs are impeccable. Veena World's tours are always satisfying as they include all important tourist attractions within the limited duration of the tour. Moreover, based on our experience, the trained and prompt tour managers of Veena World win hearts with their affectionate behavior. I must insist that our trip to Kashmir has left a lasting impression in our memories, thanks to the kindness of tour manager Kunal Gorekar, who treated me like family when I sprained my leg in Pahalgam. So, like us, determine your travel mission and embark on your journey with enthusiasm!

‘Exchange a coin and you make no difference but exchange a thought and you can change the world.’ Hi! I’m Veena Patil... Fortunate enough to have answered my calling some 40+ years ago and content enough to be in this business of delivering happiness almost all my life. Tourism indeed moulds you into a minimalist... Memories are probably our only possession. And memories are all about sharing experiences, ideas and thoughts. Life is simple, but it becomes easy when we share. Places and people are two things that interest me the most. While places have taken care of themselves, here are my articles through which I can share some interesting stories I live and love on a daily basis with all you wonderful people out there. I hope you enjoy the journey... Let’s go, celebrate life!
