From lively and popular tourist spots to breathtaking offbeat destinations, the National Capital is blessed to have a plethora of places to visit near Delhi for weekends. The fast-paced life in Delhi calls for a quick weekend getaway trip. Thankfully, there are plenty of hill stations to help you rejuvenate. Now, if your trip is planned and you are going with your family, it makes sense to opt for a tour package; it saves on the time and stress of trip planning.

As for our recommendations, here’s a curated list of destinations to choose from: -

1. Fagu

For many, weekend trips from Delhi mean visiting a hill station of choice in Himachal Pradesh; Fagu is one of them. A beautiful hamlet that is just about 361 km from Delhi, Fagu is one of the best weekend getaways near Delhi thanks to the exceptional backdrop of the Himalayas and the flora that this place is blessed with. What’s more, it is just about 6 km from Kufri.

Owing to the fact that people still head more to Kufri, Fagu can still be counted as an offbeat destination. It is peaceful, naturally raw, and loved by adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. In fact, it is growing to be one of the handpicked places near Delhi where people go for weekend trips. About 20 km from here lies the city of Shimla. Talk about being strategically located, eh?!

2. Agra

No weekend getaway is as budgeted as the one to the home of the magnificent Taj Mahal; Agra. With all its beautiful monuments, Agra has been serving as one of the finest places to visit near Delhi for 2 days. People from the capital choose to take a road trip to this beautiful city of Uttar Pradesh and enjoy their time here. Another good thing about the place is the variety of food on offer. You don’t need to worry about spending a lot of money in this city because Agra and budget travelling go hand in hand. As far as trip planning is concerned, save time on the internet by choosing an Agra tour package to enjoy your time in the city to the fullest. Agra might be 232 km away from Delhi but the Yamuna Expressway has made it a lot more accessible and easier to reach. While in Agra, do visit the likes of Sikandra Fort, Agra Fort, and the magnificent Taj Mahal! And lest we forget, don’t forget to get a few packs of Panchi Petha on your way home.

Almora is another great destination for a weekend getaway near Delhi. When you are visiting a hill station, take the journey via road; the trip will be as scenic as the destination you are going to. Now, travelling to Almora from Delhi, which is 370 km, may sound like a bit of an effort, but in our view, it is well worth it as you get to explore Binsar and Ranikhet as well.
