Travel Guidelines 2021

Last year in 2020 the entire world faced an unprecedented situation with the outbreak of the pandemic. Many travel restrictions were imposed by various state and central governments of countries around the world. Many of these regulations are in place now and it is our duty as responsible citizens to abide by them.

We request all guests to abide by the mandatory requirements for travel to the destination, such as RT-PCR tests, web check-in, self-declaration, e-pass formalities etc. as per the state/country, which are subject to change periodically. Any cost incurred for such requirements should be borne by the guests.

Guests must ensure the following:

  • If testing for Covid-19 is a travel requirement for entry to the state/country, the guests will have to take the specified test (72/96 hrs prior) and carry the test reports, which must be valid at the time of entry as per the state/country guidelines. In case the result of the Covid-19 test is positive prior to the tour, guest will not be able to join the said tour. Get in touch with travel advisor for alternate solution.
  • If Self-Health Declaration is a travel requirement then kindly fill-in the same.
  • It is advisable to download and register your details on the Aarogya Setu App which should be presented to the said officials if asked for. A green status on your Aarogya Setu App is required for travel.
  • It is mandatory to use a mask and carry hand sanitizer at all times while on tour
  • Social distancing should be followed stringently at all times.
  • Maintaining personal hygiene is a must at all times during the tour.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines as outlined by Hotels/Airlines/Associates/sightseeing places
  • Intimation to respective representative, Tour Manager or Travel advisor is must, if you observe any symptoms related to Covid, so necessary precautions can be taken to avoid further spread.

Kindly note given the current dynamic situation some monuments or sightseeing places may be closed temporarily without any prior notice; in such cases every attempt will be made to visit an alternate sightseeing if possible.

3. In addition to being in possession of negative RT-PCR report, all arriving passengers shall mandatorily undergo RAT test upon arrival at designated testing centers located within 2 KMs of the airport
Quarantine:1. If the test of the result conducted on arrival is negative, Mandatory 7 day home quarantine for all passengers.
2. If any passenger tests positive will be sent for institutional quarantine for further treatment.

2. While applying for tourist inner line permit, following documents should be submitted:
i. Valid COVID-19 negative certificate of tourist.
ii. Tour booking slip.
iii. Tour itinerary with details of place of visit and stay.
iv. Details of vehicle, driver, and tour guide information

3. If the test result of the RAT test is positive, the passenger will have to undergo home isolation or get admitted in private hospital or Government Health Institution depending on his/her medical condition.
4. If the test result of the RAT test is negative, the passenger will have to undergo RT-PCR at the airport itself. The cost of the RT-PCR test (maximum INR 500) shall be borne by the passenger.
5. Passengers shall be allowed to leave the airport once the sample/swab for RT-PCR test has been collected and with the condition that he/she shall remain under home quarantine until the result is declared
6. If the test result of the RT-PCR test is positive, the passenger will have to undergo home isolation or get admitted in private hospital or Government Health Institution depending on his/her medical condition.
7. If the test result of the RT-PCR test is negative, the passenger can continue his/her activities adhering to COVID-19 behaviour and norms of the state.
8. Exemption - Fully vaccinated passengers i.e. those who have received both the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine shall be exempted.

4. Symptomatic individuals (Covid-19 or flu like symptoms) should avoid Non-essential and interstate travel to reduce the risk of infection.
5. If any symptoms of COVID is seen, the passenger will have to get the test done at the airport at their own cost.

3. If a family is travelling together as tourists to Sikkim and at least one of them is fully vaccinated (both doses) and others are partially vaccinated (one dose) or accompanied by children below the age of 18 years, all of them would still be permitted to enter Sikkim, provided that a valid negative RT-PCR test report must be carried by all those members who are only partially vaccinated & children below the age of 18 years.
4. Test for their RT-PCR report should have been conducted within 72 hrs prior to arrival.
Quarantine1. If any tourist arrives without a test, then they should get It done at the nearest COVID-19 testing centres at specified testing locations in the state.

4. Customers falling under the category of pre-arrival RT-PCR required  to attach a copy of their negative test result while completing their health declaration on the IMUGA portal. This needs to be done both for departure and arrival.
5. The QR code obtained to be made readily available for verification by immigration upon entry in Maldives.
6. To present  test result in paper or electronic format during the airline check-in.
7. Tourists arriving to the Maldives from India (including those exceeding transit stays of 24 hours) who have completed the prescribed dose(s) of a Covid-19 vaccine, must hold a negative result for a nucleic acid test (PCR test) for COVID- l9 prior to entry into the Maldives. The sample for said PCR test must be taken not more than 96 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure from the first port of embarkation en-route to the Maldives. Furthermore, all above mentioned tourists should undertake a PCR test for COVID- l9 within a maximum of 72 hours prior to their departure from the Maldives.

Quarantine1. Not subjected to a 14 day quarantine however must be in possession of RT PCR negative certificate in English in print or electronic form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) issued no more than 96 hours before departure. 96Hours is calculated from the time for sample collection.
2. RT PCR certificate must contain name as per passport, name and address of the testing laboratory, Type of test, date of sample collection and result.
Rules1. All travellers coming to India need to submit the self declaration form on the online Air Suvidha Portal www.newdelhiairport.in before their scheduled travel and also upload a Covid-19 negative RT-PCR report. This test needs to be conducted within 72 hours of conducting the journey.
2. COVID-19 test be done at the resort in Maldives 2 days before the scheduled departure time which costs USD 175 per person for flying back to India (payable directly at the resort by the guest).  
DubaiThermal Screening1. Thermal screening for all passengers.
Guest Obligation1. Passengers must hold a VALID Covid-19 test certificate, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) or a certified designated laboratory which is available on https://www.icmr.gov.in issued within 48 hours from the time of collecting the sample up to departure.
2. The time of sample collection - “Date & Time” and time of reporting “Result date and Result time” should be accurate.4. It is mandatory that the report includes a QR code which is linked to the original report, for verification purposes by the airlines through a cell phone and validation by the representatives of Health Authority upon passenger arrival at Dubai Airport.
5. The certificate must be a Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test. Other test certificates including antibody tests and home testing kits are not accepted.
6. SMS and digital certificates and Handwritten certificates are not acceptable.
QuarantineNone, if on arrival COVID-19 test is negative
Rules1. Passengers must carry a negative RT-PCR certificate in printed form, issued no more than 72 hours before departure.
2. COVID-19 test facility is available on arrival. All passengers must undergo a PCR test upon arrival into India as well

4. All travellers should (i) submit self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal https://www.newdelhiairport.in/before the scheduled travel (ii) upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report. This test should have been conducted within 72 hrs prior to undertaking the journey. Each passenger shall also submit a declaration with respect to authenticity of the report and will be liable for criminal prosecution, if found otherwise. 
Sri LankaThermal ScreeningThermal screening for all passengers.
Guest Obligation1. All travellers arriving in Sri Lanka should mandatorily carry a negative COVID-19 test report in English language.
2. All travellers of twelve years and above should undergo COVID-19 PCR test on arrival (Day One) from a Ministry of Health approved private sector laboratory or a state sector laboratory.
3. Each traveller should submit a completed Health Declaration Form to the staff of the Airport Health Office at the health counters of arriving airport. Separate forms should be submitted for each of accompanying children if any. Travellers who have completed the recommended doses of the COVID-19 vaccination and departs from abroad after two weeks of completion of vaccination, should produce the vaccination certificate/ card to Airport Health Officer at arriving airport.
4. Travellers who have received the recommended doses of COVID-19 vaccine should carry the original vaccination certificate / card (together with a certified copy of English language translation if the certificate/card is not in English or if relevant data are not indicated in English in a non - English certificate / card) or a verifiable evidence of vaccination.
QuarantinePassengers who are vaccinated and/or have tested Covid-19 negative on arrival are allowed to move between Safe Secure Certified Level 1 Hotels in a biosecure travel bubble and can visit approved important sites in a biosecure travel bubble from the date where the on arrival (Day One) PCR test negative result is available.
